Full Of Myself Johnny Dawes
"Full of Myself" is the exciting and often astounding autobiography of legendary British rock climber Johnny Dawes. This is a man who's the opposite of all mouth and no trousers. In the 298-page book, published in 2011, Dawes reveals how he got his start, venturing out with a group of mates in the mid-1980s. He put in the hard hours of practice, pushing himself until (to make a bad joke of it) he was a topping rock climber. In 1986, Dawes scaled Indian Face on Clogwyn d'ur Arddu in Snowdonia. He kept climbing in the early 1990s, although this was one of his most daring ascents. Dawes pushed the sport to its limits, introducing the new grades of E8 and E9 to the British grading system. You'll learn a lot from his inspiring, original yarns. And unlike many of the stories you'll hear in the bars, these ones are true.
